Pitstop Mart

Our goal has always been to motivate, encourage and release our fellow creatives to do their thing

Some people are okay with a temperature of 36-38 degrees while others start complaining as soon as temperature crosses 30 degrees. Hence you should choose the material that is agreeable to your body

“The public is more familiar with bad design than good design. It is, in effect, conditioned to prefer bad design, because that is what it lives with. The new becomes threatening, the old reassuring.”

Cotton

Cotton is great for those who sweat heavily during sleep as it absorbs the sweet quite efficiently. Besides it also offers quite ample room for your skin to breathe freely. The fabric is also recommendable t be used if your toddlers still sleep with you as the fabric is easily washable and does not require any specific water washing instructions. Besides, its composition helps to remove the stains more efficiently.

Supima Cotton

If you need extra softness to relax your aching muscle then supima cotton is the best fit for you. The long fibers of supima cotton give you the required softness for that supple, pompous feeling.

Linen

If you want an ultimate relief from heat even while your skin is in close contact with the bed sheet then linen is the fabric that you should go for. It is known for its cool effect and provides the much needed oxygen to the skin.

However it also presents 2 restrictions. While we are enjoying the sound sleep whole night our body keeps on changing the sides, again and again…..and yet again. The problem here is that the linen can easily be wrinkled and the wrinkles are quite apparent on this fabric because of its texture. So you need to get it ironed quite frequently. Secondly, the fabric does not come cheap and pure linen can be very costly.

Let us balance the negatives: the feel of linen improves as it grows old and it is quite durable.

Poly blend sheets

Though easy to spread the sheet cannot match the qualities of cotton or linen. Noticeably it also resist wrinkles. So go for it if you want an easy, no-fuss fabric and are not a fussy sleeper.

One more thing to remember

Many people have a strange obsession with the thread count. While we certainly do not say that thread counts does not hold any importance, it is just one of the various aspects of a bed sheet and not the only prime factor to be considered as many people believe it to be. A higher thread count would not make a lower quality cotton feel better than pure Egyptian cotton. A high quality Egyptian cotton bed sheet with say 400 thread counts is still better than a lower quality cotton bed sheet with 800 thread count. So, if you really need a distinct feel then always go for the combination: Material quality + Thread count. Here too give the primary preference should be given to material.
